We successfully navigated the Metro today and once we put our feet up for a little rest in our apartment we hit the streets again to see if we could find a phone store to buy a local Sim. What a drama that was. Very few phone shops had sims we could use - they were all out of stock! Each store would send us to the next one and we ended up walking around the Streets of Paris on a wild goose chase. We mainly wanted a sim for data so that if we needed to find something to do with airbnb or maps we would have the ability to do so. The upshot is that we decided it wasn't necessary for the hassle it was causing us! Everywhere we have booked has wifi and so do many of the cafes so that will do us I think.
The tour guide this morning gave us a tip that listening to a concert at Sainte Chapelle (near Notre Dame) is something well worth doing. She also told us where we could buy tickets easily at the cafe across the road from the chapel, so after walking for miles looking for a SIM card we decided to keep walking to the cafe and rest our weary legs while drinking wine and eating cheese at said cafe!
The concert was wonderful. Claudia nodded off occasionally due to the wine and the relaxing, almost lullaby nature of the music! The acoustics were amazing.
As we crossed the bridge after the concert, the sun was setting with the Eiffel Tower in the background - quite spectacular.
We have returned home tired, but happy as they say in the classics!
